I never liked running much. At all. Even though roadwork is an integral part of a boxer’s training program, I always did the minimum required. Until in 2004 when a few of my clients wanted to add running to their fitness routines but didn’t want to run alone. So I decided to organize a little group to run a few miles a few days a week. Over the next couple years, the group grew to include clients who were seasoned runners and clients who had never even run a mile, and together we trained for and ran 5Ks, 10Ks, half marathons and marathons. Thanks to the running group I have to date run 2 5K races, 2 10Ks, 5 half marathons, and 4 marathons and it has become an integral part of my life. I even beat my former personal best time by 5 minutes in the pouring rain of the 2011 LA Marathon. So If I can do it, anyone can do it! It is truly one of my favorite things to see new runners cross the finish line after spending years thinking they could never do it.
